Improvements of Al Shindagha Corridor, Dubai, UAE.
For the improvement of Al Shindagha Corridor in Dubai over a length of 1,500m 26 bridge structures, on Corniche Street need to be erected. The construction method for 23 bridges are span-by-span combined with short balanced cantilever arms with precast box girder segments, and three bridges are cast-in-place box girders with variable width. For the 23 precast bridges 1900 precast box girder segments need to be produced using the short line match cast method.
Mr. Komar’s Involvement: • leading the geometry control team, responsible for the precast segment geometry control, developing the global, local and erection coordinates, including the fabrication and erection camber, • independently checking the structural system, the construction sequence and temporary works, • providing construction engineering support
